Engine 1 ScotiaBusinessFire

Engine 1
Engine 1 is a 1996 Metalfab triple combination pumper which was built on a Volvo chassis. It is powered by a 260 HP turbo-charged Volvo diesel engine with an Allison 5 speed automatic transmission. The pump is a 1250 IGPM Hale and the truck has a 1000 Imperial gallon poly tank. Engine 1 is equipped with both Class “A” and “B” foam systems. This apparatus was built with a totally enclosed crew compartment which also contains an enclosed transverse pump panel. Two quick mount Breathing Apparatus seats are located in the crew compartment and an additional one can be found in the officer’s seat.
Engine 1 operates mainly as a supply pumper. Being equipped with 1200' of 4" supply hose, it is generally responsible to lay a supply line to either or both the first in engine or ladder truck. If the distance from water source dictates, Engine 1 will feed either of these two vehicles when necessary. Engine 1 is also equipped with a complete set of HK Porter heavy hydraulic vehicle extrication equipment. It usually rolls in conjunction with Rescue 5 to Motor Vehicle Accidents to provide both rescue backup and fire protection. In mutual aid situations, Engine 1 responds when a pumper is required as well as in conjunction with Ladder 2 to provide water supply.
Engine 1 is currently staffed by the following personnel:
Captain Stephen Girvan, Lieutenant Todd Arenburg, Driver Gary Conrad, Firefighters Dave Comeau, Frank Peveril, Dave Nash, Richard Dorey, Kevin Nauss and John D'Mello.

Ladder 2 MontagueFire
Ladder 2
Ladder 2 is a 1981 Thibault 85' Aerial Water Tower. Built on an International Cab-over single axle chassis, this vehicle is equipped with a 1050 IGPM Thibault two stage pump and does not carry any water. Powered by a 265 HP Detroit Diesel engine with a 4 speed Allison automatic transmission, Ladder 2 has an open crew compartment and a transverse pump panel. Two quick mount Breathing Apparatus seats are located in the crew compartment.
Ladder 2 performs typical ladder company operations such as rescue, ventilation, and exposure protection. The apparatus is equipped to do high angle rescue as well as it contains a full compliment of rope rescue gear. The steel aerial ladder contains a 3" piped waterway which is capable of flowing 1000 IGPM through the nozzle at the tip. This vehicle is due to be replaced within the next 3 or 4 years with a 75' aluminum Quint.
Ladder 2 is currently staffed by the following personnel:
Captain Kevin Dolliver, Lieutenant Richard Knickle, Drivers Scott Young and George Lake, Firefighters Reid Whynot, Ingo Bauer, Chris Chelli, Ed Arab and Robbie Smith.

This apparatus is equipped with both Class “A” and “B” foam systems and has a 1000 Imperial gallon tank. Engine 4 has an open crew compartment and a transverse pump panel. Two quick mount Breathing Apparatus seats are located in the crew compartment and an additional one can be found in the officer’s seat. An additional two BA units are located in a side compartment.

While operating as a supply pumper, Engine 4 also has the task of being the Department’s main sprinkler system supply vehicle.
